The use of human primary cells has major advantages when compared to cell lines. Primary cells are not modified, and directly isolated and plated (or cryoconserved) upon isolation from sourced tissues, whereas cell lines are altered. Results obtained from primary cells are more meaningful, as cells remain close to the tissue source of origin.

Nevertheless, primary cells exhibit inherent lot-to-lot variability and researchers spend time on cellular screens before using them in their specific cell based assays. This work is cumbersome and therefore CellMade started to introduce a series of functionally characterized cells.

Within the series of endothelial cells, our HUVEC, HDMVEC and HAOEC have been pre-qualified to assure responsiveness to VEGF stimulation as measured by detecting phosphorylated forms of important endothelial cell signaling molecules.
